Harvard Business Review gives Viewpoints on Coaching
The Jan. '09 issue of Harvard Business Review lists the results of a survey of more than 100 coaches. One distinction I noticed was the coaching of the past focused on toxic problems that needed to be solved. Now, most coaches are hired for the people showing highest potential.
I've been coached by 3 of the top speaking coaches in North America, but put off hiring a business coach for years. With a business degree, I thought I should be able to handle things on my own. 4 months ago, I finally hired a business coach and my business went through a total make-over. I'm now moving forward at the speed I want. If you want to get faster results with any particular aspect of your life, find a coach that specializes in that area. Interview several until you find your match, then hop on it!

where will be the next?
article by Dr. Earl Smith
Lately I have been feeling like a cutting-edge piece of technology. That is a new feeling, as I have been coaching executives for a couple of decades. But now there seems to be a new attitude towards coaching and the kinds of wisdom and experience that I bring to engagements.
